Forward in Faith has urged the General Synod of the Church of England to approach with caution a proposal put forward by the House of Bishops on women bishops. The new proposal does not address the problems that led to the defeat of past measures, they note, and serves to empower bishops and clergy at the expense of the lay members if the Church of England.

 ... One of [Justin Welby's] responsibilities is towards the Anglican Communion which is currently suffering from impaired and broken relationships. Archbishop Justin will definitely need to accurately diagnose the reasons for these divisions in order to come up with the correct treatment. One of the first challenges he will face is to understand how the nature of the Anglican Communion has changed in the last decades. Statistics show that there are now more Anglicans in the “South” than in the “North.”

Bishop Johnston’s action is unconscionable. In spite of his assurances to Tory that he believes the Nicene Creed, he welcomed Crossan, who denies the bodily resurrection of Jesus and says that Jesus’ body was eaten by dogs, and he permitted him to speak unchallenged to clergy in his diocese.

First was the ordination of a non-celibate lesbian in the former home of the Falls Church  Anglican parish this past December. This was a problem of both menu and venue, of what  and where it was done. This kind of ordination, which violates scriptural teaching, caused  the Anglican schism in the first place. I believe that holding the service at the Falls Church  shortly after they lost their building showed a disregard and lack of respect for the good and  godly pastor and the people of the Falls Church. This was a failure to treat others in a way  that honors the imago dei in each of us. It was extremely painful to learn of this action and  my full sympathy is with John Yates+ and his congregation.

We are united tonight in grief.

Tomorrow shall we unite in resolve to ban weapons whose only purpose is to kill large numbers of people?

hus says the Lord:?
A voice is heard in Ramah,
lamentation and bitter weeping.?
Rachel is weeping for her children;
she refuses to be comforted for her children,?
because they are no more.
Jeremiah 31:15-17

We are united tonight in grief.

Tomorrow shall we unite in resolve to ban weapons whose only purpose is to kill large numbers of people?

And to make it as easy to get mental health care as it is to buy a gun?

This is a painful letter. It is painful because it concerns un-canonical (and perhaps even unlawful) actions on the part of our Presiding Bishop and her associates. These actions, detailed in the attached appendix and summarized in the bullet points below, have already undermined the good order and spiritual health of our church. We write to you our Bishops because of your responsibility for that good order. We write as Presbyters who have in one way or another faithfully served our church for over half a century. We pray that, despite the painful nature of the story we place before you, you will listen to what we have to say with a clear and open mind.

We urge you, therefore, to take careful note of the following points that are more fully spelled out in our appendix. We urge you further to take the necessary steps to restore the good order of our church.
