Promoting circumcision as a prophylactic against the spread of HIV/AIDs was a waste of government funds, a Ugandan bishop has warned.

Speaking to a 12 April 2012 gathering of the clergy of the Diocese of West Ankole, Bishop Yona Katoneene of the Diocese of West Ankole called upon the ministry of health to redirect funding from its campaign to encourage male circumcision to one that promotes abstinence.

The Vagina Monologues coming to a cathedral near you

An Anglican church in Ontario will host a production of The Vagina Monologues with eight female clergy taking part in the production.

The Valentine’s Day performance of the controversial 1990’s play written by Eve Ensler will be performed before the altar of St. George’s Anglican Church in St. Catharines, Ontario. The ensemble offered the first show last week at Christ Church Cathedral to an enthusiastic reception, local newspapers reported.
